Now Planting in Shasta-Trinity National Forest

Shasta-Trinity National Forest is in Northern California.

In 2008 the Lime Complex Fire, Iron Complex Fire, and Lightning Complex Fire burned thousands of acres of trees, leaving large areas so devastated that the trees can’t regenerate themselves.

We’ll be planting native Ponderosa pine, Jeffrey pine, Incense cedar, and Douglas fir, in the late Spring or early Summer of 2011.

Please check back with us this summer, as we’ll have photos and maps up as soon as they are available.

E-Tree Gifts Now Available!

We are happy to announce our new option for Tree Gifts:  E-Tree Gifts. Now when you order a Personalized Tree Gift you’ll have 2 options:

*Our standard Tree Gift (100% recycled paper, as always) to be mailed to your recipient along with your personalized message.

*An E-Tree Certificate to be emailed to your recipient along with your personalized message, an explanation of the gift, and links to the Registry and Find Your Tree pages on our website.

E-Certificates are perfect for last minute gifts since we can usually process them in 24-48 hours, and they are great because they save paper.

Can You Help Us Branch Out?

We’re hoping you might help us get the word out about Trees for a Change over the next few weeks.

The holidays are a time when people buy a lot of “stuff,” and we’re thinking some of that energy might go into planting Tree Gifts instead if the right people find out about us at the right time.

We’re asking you to help us “Branch Out” by telling your friends about us and/or posting a link to http://www.treesforachange.com  on sites like Facebook or Twitter.

Here is a message you can cut and paste into an email to your friends, if you like:

I thought you might like to know about this organization I am a fan of–Trees for a Change.  They plant trees as gifts in National Forests that have been destroyed by wildfire, and their prices for Tree Gifts range from $15 to $59.  This is a personal and meaningful gift that isn’t just more “stuff.”  Check them out at http://www.treesforachange.com

We Were on KQED

We donated Tree Gift Cards to our local National Public Radio station, KQED, for their recent pledge drive.
Jerry Newman discussed the importance of planting trees after devastating wildfires like the ones we’ve had recently in California. Sandy Althouse pointed out what a great present Tree Gifts are for weddings.
We must admit, it was quite a thrill to hear them talk about Trees for a Change on the largest NPR station in the country.
Have a listen by clicking below~
